Gee, Sorry!

After months of hearing about Korean boy bands and girl bands from many friends, including some very unexpected ones (WenMin!) I decided to go give a few Korean songs a listen.

Gee by Girl's Generation and Sorry Sorry by Super Junior are apparently, the famous songs lately.

The songs, I must admit, are pretty addictive.
The lines "Sorry sorry sorry sorry" and "gee gee gee gee gee" are constantly in my head. Well, those words are the only words I can understand from the whole song anyway.

Hence, post title.

But what I don't understand is the number of members in one band =____= Girl's Generation is a 9 woman strong singing group. Super Junior has 13 guys. (?!?!)

Why is the band so BIG?

I don't know why. I'm pretty sure the song would sound the same with 5 members =.= Someone enlighten me.

Britishly Gorgeous

Right now, I want nothing more but a Union Jack shirt.
T.T I found this gorgeous one in Cotton On today but wasn't willing to splurge on it because it's one for RM60 and 2 for RM75.

NO ONE WANTED TO GET ANOTHER SHIRT SO I CAN PAY LESS T.T

Oh how cruel is the world.

Story of My Life Right Now: Part I

Sunday the 15th

Went to the Chic Pop Street Market with Yu Li in hopes of finding great buys! (: It was alright I supposed. Got myself a high waisted zipper skirt but regretted a lot later because I have a dress with an almost similiar pattern to it T.T Oh well.

After this event, I told myself I will never go clubbing. Because the stench in the club can keeeeeeeeeeel you. First you get all nauseous, next you feel like throwing up and finally you just want to die. Yes, that bad.

Monday the 16th

Ang Hui Li's Sweet Sixteen @ Extra Super Tanker, Bukit Utama :D Among activities:
  • Prawn eating competition
  • Karaoke
  • I Never (played with a plate of vegetables)
  • Dare or Dare hahaha.
  • Most importantly, we celebrated Hui Li turning 16 and yes I'm sure it was an awzum and memorable day for her! =)
Very intense prawn eating competition.

Happy Birthday =)

To Hui Li, you are honestly one of the nicest people I've ever met. I don't think there's anyone else similiar to you, because you are unique as you are. You are smart and awzum, yet you seem always humble. You are always yourself, never trying to be someone else. And this is why I think you're an awzumzum friend! So, enjoy being sixteen for a whole year =)

Tuesday the 17th

Igudesman and Joo: A Little Nightmare Music @ Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, KLCC

In my opinion, it was awzum can die :) Not everyone's cup of tea, but I super enjoyed it and I believe my entourage agrees. Definitely amazing.

Other shameless things we did:

The Girls. I do not like this picture =/

On Facebook, the caption is: Rachel punching some ball.

heeh heeh.

So that is part of what I have been doing for the past few days.
Yes, including trying to break into Tiffany & Co. (:

Jumble Sale!

Hello!

I just came across an old friend's blog and happened to read a post on how she hates the new SPM system. The whole 10-subject limit issue. Hm, I know a lot of other people who despise this system as well.

When I first heard this piece of news, yes I was equally as pissed and upset as most students would be. But after calming down and slowly thinking about it, I realized it's not much big of a deal. As a matter of fact, the pros of this system soon began to outweigh the cons. I started to understand the whole point of this system and began to like it.

The main point many people oppose to this system is because they feel like they are not given freedom of choice. As in, they feel that they can handle more subjects than others and therefore they should be allowed to take more than 10 subjects. Then again, is there ANY point in taking so many subjects? Taking extra subjects like Accounts, English literature, Economics; would that help much in life if you plan to be a doctor or a chemist? Not really right? The only reason why people would want to take so many subjects is because of a serious attitude problem, known to many as the 'kiasu' spirit. Because of the urge to win and seem more superior than everyone, people drive themselves to study so hard just for more A's.

I believe one reason this system was implemented is to eradicate this mentality. In a way, it is also better for all the students. Everyone will be studying the same amount, so no one will say that the system is unfair! It's like marks in an examination; the maximum mark you can get is a 100, so everyone will strive for 100, and no one will get 110. I like (: We also don't have to push ourselves to study so much anymore. If there wasn't this system in place, I would be taking Accounts most probably, which means one extra subject to read on.

Also, this system makes the examination results really really clear. One look and you can spot the best students already. If we used the old system, it's pretty hard to see whether an all A student who took 9 subjects or an 11A student who took 12 subjects is smarter. Just because Mr.11A has more A's, doesn't mean Mr.9A is less clever. Now, at least we know the top students are those who can get 10A's, followed by 9A's, 8A's and so on. Scholarship applications would be processed with much more ease and students cannot complain about it because truth be told, the system is actually pretty good.

Furthermore, most SMK students are taking 9 subjects, which means they still can choose another subject if they really want to. So, we STILL get freedom of choice! Unless you're from my school, where Chinese is compulsory and therefore fulfills the 10-subject limit quota. I am still okay with it though. As long as I'm still taking the vital subjects I require to help me achieve my ambition, I am pleased.

My debate seniors debated on this before, and I quote one of them.
'It isn't the quantity of A's that we're looking for, it's the quality of A's that is important.'

I hope this post convinces all of you who are still upset with the system (:

Scream City

I am generally a very self conscious person (except when I'm high & ecstatic).
I hate making a fool out of myself.
I cannot sleep in peace for days once that happens.

Why, oh why?

Two Posts in a Day Pretty Much Proves I'm Bored

This is Kesha.
Pronounced Keh-sha. I found out today.
The girl who sang the very addictive song called Tik Tok.

Don't you guys think she looks very much like Taylor Swift?

I think Kesha is Taylor's evil twin sister.
In Kah Jo's words, Kesha is the sluttier wilder version of Taylor.
Quite correct right?

Think About It.

Some time ago, a friend had a blonde moment.

I Friend

My tuition teacher travels to the funniest places ever.
Where?
Nigeria.
O.O Whats wrong with Nigeria? Isn't it very pretty?
*stun*
OH OH OH NIGERIA. I thought you said Niagara!

This is Niagara Falls. :) pretty, isn't it?

This is Nigeria. :(

It makes me ponder.
How two places on Earth with almost similiar names,
is in fact heaven and hell.

Nothing Beats This

One of the best feelings in the world, for me at least, is the exhilaration from jogging. When sweat trickles and drips down my head, my back, I know I’m losing weight :D When I run to the beat of Mad as Rabbits by Panic! at the Disco, I feel invincible. So long have I not felt this feeling.

For I, Queen of Procrastination (yes Rachel Gan, me, not you) can never find time to jog. Almost always due to drama series addiction or the Sims 3 or I’m just too plain… lazy.

Seeing as I’ve postponed jogging for too long already, I decided to have a nice run around the neighbourhood today, and boy, it felt so awzum. That feeling came back. My legs grew wings. Adrenaline was pumping. I felt a kind of powerful force, pushing me to run faster, harder, longer and go the distance like Rocky hahaha. And then, the rain came, and well, rained on my parade =.=

But still! It was a very awesome 20 minutes jog, and I am definitely going to be jogging more often in the future! *determined tone

Yes, nothing beats the running high. :) Nothing.

I need someone to decipher me!

Greetings!

Lately life has been certainly monotonous and dull. Everyday I run through the same routine :

  • Go to school (occasionally, depending on my mood)
  • Play the Sims 3 and get bored.
  • Watch an episode per day of Gossip Girl Season 3
  • Drool over Chuck Bass
  • Plan to go jogging but always end up procrastinating due to laziness.
  • Thus, end up gaining more weight.
  • This is depressing.
  • I need to go out and have fun.
  • Okay fine, this is not helping in any way.
  • Bye.

Warning: Catastrophe.

Hello everybody!

I am not amused.

In other words I am bored. Really bored.

Bittersweet

So today was the All American Rejects concert! :) :) :)

I've always heard that AAR is one band that performs really well live, and yes I was not disappointed. They put on an awzum performance, and I still have Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down) stuck in my head.

You can sit beside me when the world comes down,
If it doesn't matter, then just turn around.
You'll be my queen, and I'll be your clown,
you can sit beside me when the world comes down.

So it was really an enjoyable concert overall, except for the fact that some moments were ruined by some very very inconsiderate and mean people. :(

a) people who smoke during the concert.

For goodness sake lah right, you're in an area with a 10,000 strong crowd packed like sardines. Everyone is sweaty and stuffy and you have to go and make things worse by smoking your stupid cigarette. I generally do not have anything against smokers, but I think smoking like that in public when there's so many other non-smokers around you is just, crazy. Who do you think you are, really? Tyson Ritter's father? Or does the venue belong to your grandfather or something, for you to be puffing away taking your own sweet time while the crowd around you DIES from your smoke. I really only have one word for these people : Idiots.

I thank God I'm not the only one thinking like this. This dude right, he started smoking in the middle of the concert and all the people around him started banging him and shouting STOP IT LAH! STOP SMOKING! DUDE, GET A LIFE LAH! Hahaha I was pretty satisfied when the guy threw his cigarette away.

b) people who push and push and push and push and push their way relentlessly through the crowd just to make it to the front DURING THE CONCERT.

I am okay with people who try the get the best spots before the concert, because well it hasn't started and if you get a good place, good for you because you know how to hunt for good places! Sadly, some people who came in late or just didn't manage to get good seats come and squeeze here and there while everyone is trying to enjoy the concert! It gets reeeallly irritating especially when you just want to enjoy and jump and sway to the music then suddenly you feel squashed because someone is trying to push his way through.

At one point, I was so upset with this guy for squeezing through i just kicked him furiously over and over again. Ah, it felt good.

c) people who have no life and no standards whatsoever.

I saw with my own eyes how this group of people stole DSLR cameras from the media photographers and reporters. And they took more than one of the cameras. Worse, they didn't even bother to conceal what they just did. They took the things they stole, and just walked off. Which really pisses me off because, come on lah, the camera might mean money to you but it could mean a job to someone else alright? Why stoop to such low standards just for money? I was really upset at that time and that sort of disrupted my happy mood for awhile.

We wanted to see what we could do to solve the situation, but those thieves looked at us as if they will come after us with a parang if we say anything.

Honestly, I don't know what is wrong with such people.

p.s. after Aerobics session today, walking around at the Calvary Carnival and jumping to AAR's songs, i desperately need a really good foot massage. :(

Of Star Wars & School

So, since its one of the cool things (at least in my terms, 'cool') I did in my holidays! I decided to share it! On Sunday & Monday, Pei, Rachel, Matthew, Aaron and I decided to crash Nicholas' house @ Mont' Kiara and go on a Star Wars marathon.

First off, Nicholas if you can read this, you are an awzumzum host with an awzumzum house and an awzumzum maid who makes awzumzum muffins! :) Thank you for being so kind and nice and sharing all your Vanilla coke with us. This also means we will definitely crash your house again sooner than you think! ;) By the way, I really do like your house & your DVD player.

Second, Aaron's genius quote has been ringing in my mind the whole day today!
I have no idea if that's a good thing or not.

I quote Aaron Ng.
'He's so horny!'

Third, I so need a pencil dress.
Someone buy me a pencil dress from ASOS pwetty pwease.

Fourth, I have some dreaded feeling tomorrow won't be a good day at school. You know, something that starts with an 'R' and ends with 'esults'?

Fifth, I know someone's going to be going through something very tough in approximately, 17 hours and being the good friend I am! All the best, God bless you, and we all know you can and will do it. (: (: (:

When Things Don't Go Right.

I really like this particular Korean series called Boys Over Flowers.
Or Boys Before Flowers =.=

And for a period of time I used to think the leading male was not bad.
He's called Gu Jun Pyo in the show.

He's rich, powerful, charming.
Everything a lead male character is supposed to be.
Everything needed to make girls drop dead.
And he looks like this.
I don't really fancy guys with long hair, let alone curly -.-
But the thing is, in the picture he at least looks like a sane, good looking guy.

That was until a few days ago.
When I found out that the actor that plays Gu Jun Pyo,
Lee Min Ho to be exact, is endorsing the Korean cosmetic line, Etude House.
I have no problems whatsoever with him endorsing Etude House.

But I have limits.
When a series of promotional pictures for EtudeHouse came out,
I died and rose again. Really.

Homg.

HOMG. HOMG.

HOMG HAVE YOU FAINTED YET?
IF NOT, YOU SHOULD.

What is this Lee Min Ho dude DOING?
Is he out of his mind?
If he doesn't have the same face as Gu Jun Pyo GO AHEAD MAN.
But the sad thing is, HE DOES.
Now EVERYTIME I SEE GU JUN PYO I SEE.

A PINK GAY MAN WITH A PINK GAY BOW TIE WITH A STUPID PINK SOFT TOY CAT.

I'm having nightmares every night about pink kitties.
Thanks to you, Lee Min Ho.

The Doggie Mascot

Hello!

Been there, done it.
WOOHOOWOOOO.

So today I very diligent, I woke up at 7.
SEVEN ON A HOLIDAY.
THE SKY IS PINK OKAY.
And I went to school for extra Chemistry lessons.
For FOUR WHOLE HOURS.
But i sat through the whole lecture groggy, unable to focus lah.

Currently, I'm craving for Rojak Buah.
With lots and lots and lots of sotong. (: (:
And it must be super spicy. (: (:
And tomorrow is a kool kool day! So watch out.

To Have A Good Time, Uh huh.

I shall revive this dead thing.
*presses revive button.

Okay done.

So, I went to tuition today with Shuz and Hui Li and I realise I really should be studying Additional Math now, but no. For the sake of blog, I shall risk the chance of failing Additional Math. Because I'm a dedicated blawger yo!

So after tuition, we went for lunch along with Chen and the Shu clan hahahaha, and we discussed plans for the holidays. WHICH WE ARE GOING TO DO, who don't do they chicken.

So, number one on my list would be...

1. Paintball.

This is a real long story. A very delayed story, I should say. It all started in some ranch in Port Dickson, with about 20 people in paintball gear all in high spirits. The paintball dude just finished explaining all the rules, and we test tried the paintball gun on a target, a necessary procedure before we enter the court. Trust me, we were excited. AND IT STARTED RAINING. (!!!) and rained, and rained, and rained. It never did stop until we went back.

I felt like taking the paintball and shooting it towards the sky for raining, but the paintball would probably land on my face.

So yes, hopefully Paintball this week.

2. Go get that Open Water Diving Certificate before I freak out.

Yes this is another very sad story. :(
A family trip to Phuket ended up with a spontaneous urge to learn diving.
But yes, the course was longer than expected and I could only learn diving but not get the cert.
So (!!!) right. Anyway, yes I'm pulling Chen and Shuz and Hui Li along to Sipadan baby!

3. Go on an Eating Fest. (whoever likes food come join me -.-)

Okay so I'm alone in this because I just came up with this but seriously!
It'll just take one day around the Klang Valley eating awzum food!
You in? :D

4. Yeah, get a job.

I need ze money. :(

5. Go fly a kite! ( Cannot say fly kite because fly kite = go to hell hahaha no serious!)

Yeah, we will fly our kites at some Selayang area. We initially wanted to build our own kites but okay lah, we admit we are not as professional as we seem. :)

6. Learn how to bake something.

SOMETHING. Whether they are brownies, mooncakes, cupcakes, spongecakes, cheesecakes, hard cake, soft cake, high cake, low cake. SOMETHING. It shall not only be edible, but awzum until you roll on the floor and die die die.

Speaking of cakes, HAPPY MOONCAKE FESTIVAL.
Zhuk nei ka hou yuet yuen.
It means er, wishing your family well and the moon round.

It's also the title of this show!

7. Knitting HAHAHAHA

We are going to knit ourselves scarves. ChenLynn maybe knit for someone else lah, ;) but the rest of us make for ourselves! The only thing lacking is a fireplace and a rocking chair. Then you get the whole knitting atmosphere!

8. Go get a bicycle and cycle!

Not that I don't know how to cycle, but a few years ago my mother disposed my bicycle because I don't use it and it rusted. =.= But yes, I'll do whatever it takes to find a bike and I will go cycling. And I want those two seater bikes lor, very kool!

Then Shuz seat in front I seat at the back, romantic! HAHAHA

9. Go on a Korean Drama Spree.

By next year, I'll master the basic skillz of the Korean language.
Actually, I have already!
Ahn Nyung Ha Sae Yooooo!
I'm going to finish up Boys Over Flowers first, then watch Full House and alot more lah!

10. Help out at SPCA.

I'm all alone in this again because well, the rest either don't like dawgs, are scared of dawgs or are very hygienic. Sigh, I guess its me against the world. Unless some kind people who likes dawgs and don't mind getting dirty, please join me? (: Can work for next year's Kerja Amal too!

11. Get a dog.

If you think not being able to paintball, and not being able to get my diving certificate was bad.
Think again, I have been wanting a dawg since like 38274t98342q- years. So after 2982859202709 years of persuading mummy dearest, she finally said yes.

Subjected to a few conditions, which includes:

  • making my bed (!!??!) which I find so redundant because I sleep at night and mess the bed all over again.
  • Washing the dishes (tolerable actually)
  • Washing my school shoes every week. (the horror O.O)
  • Complimenting her when she wants me to.
  • Complimenting her cooking as well.
  • etc.
Yes, and I will get a dawg.
Okay lah, this is my list. There are more but its 12 and I am tired.
So check out Chenlynn to see the other things.

Who More Noble?

So last time I said octopus are so noble can die.
Guess what?
I found another more noble animal, and it lives underwater as well.

THE SALMON FISH

Yeap! These fishes are delicious and noble.
Their main objective in life ever since birth, is to mate.
Well, survive and then mate.

So every year they swim like a thousand kilometres to their breeding ground which is somethere shallow and warm.
On the way, they meet salmon sharks.

Well, judging by their name,
they obviously eat salmon.
=.=

The Humpback Whale.
This whale has a hump on its back.
And eats salmon too.

And brown bears!
As you can see in the picture,
yes it is eating salmon!

So those salmon that survived the ambush by all 3 predators,
then proceed to mate upstream =.=
After they mate, they suddenly realise.
Hey you know what, I swam so far, went through so much danger!
I'm tired. Its time to die.
And proceed to die. =_________=

Yeah!
So they die because they want to like,
create a new generation of salmon.
Noble or not?

Thus, this is the end of the story of Samuel the Salmon and his wife Sally.

The Importance of Being Earnest

People get unhappy, so bear with me once in a while as I try to understand the human nature and understand its ferociousness and cunning ways.

It is upsetting to see insincerity.
No doubt I'm not the most sincere and earnest person ever;
No doubt there was once a time where I was naive and believed stupid things;
No doubt in life, everybody is not perfect.

Sincerity when making friends merely means you overlook a person's flaws when you choose to befriend him or her.

If you are really sincere about befriending someone, do not judge. That is Rule Number One.
Use that piece of sincerity, get to know a person and figure out his or her true colours (whether good or bad) and then only decide. There's no point in looking at the surface, rather what should be done is look deep beneath.

For example.
There's this rocky mountain which you want to scale and climb and reach the peak.
Plenty of people say that the mountain is dangerous, but there's no scientific evidence that says that.

So the choice is yours, really.
To climb, and enjoy the scenery at the top, proud that you decided to not conform, not believe unproven things?

Or to choose and listen to what other people say, in the end regretting because you never got to know the mountain?

Its the same when befriending people, really.

Be sincere. Talk to a person, have fun with a person, make friends with a person, rather than listen to what others say and probably miss out on a great friendship.

Of course, in the end there will be a possibility of the person being really wicked, but think about it. Which is worse? Losing a friend, or missing out on a friend?

So what I've said is don't judge before knowing, and learn to trust.
Life is all about not being judgemental and trusting, anyway.

Finally!

YOU KNOW WHAT.
TODAY SO PRODUCTIVE CAN DIE.

I happy happy! I shall list down the things I did.

1. Caught about 20 fishes, including mackerels, sardines, chicken grunt, speckled grouper...
2. Built a raft!
3. Built a stove with stones and bamboo!
4. Harvested bananas.
5. Harvested cucumbers.
6. Harvested mangoes.
7. Harvested rice.
8. Built a hut.
9. Built a chicken trap.
10. Built a rope bridge!

BEAT THAT PEOPLE.
I AM SOME QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE.

In a game called Sims Castaway. =.=

Such is my sad life again.
Building fictional rafts and eating fictional fish.
